Jamaican Made

The bandana cloth was originally used by  female Jamaican farmers and vendors in the markets to make head ties and aprons. Today, the fabric is used to make costumes for national celebrations, such as Emancipation and Independence, particularly during performances of Jamaican poems, folk songs and dances. For Jamaica Day celebrations in primary school, it is customary for children to wear different variations of the bandana.
